Hello
A Bit About Kumudie
Hi, I’m Kumudie Wiyathunge. I was born in Sri Lanka, moved to Nashville young, and recently graduated from Rhodes College with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Music. My love for music began with piano at age five and continued with the flute in middle school. In college, I balanced my studies with music, finding it therapeutic during stressful times. This led me to create "Rx from a Woodwind," a project that combines my passion for music and science as I pursue medical school.
Kumudie's Mission
In "Rx from a Woodwind," I aim to harness the healing power of music to enhance mental and physical well-being. Recognizing music's ability to alleviate stress and anxiety, I advocate for its integration into healthcare as a vital aspect of holistic care, particularly for mental health. This initiative seeks to unite music and medicine, fostering healing and empowering individuals through the transformative potential of music.
